MLT TURNS 50!
You Spoke - We Listened!
The votes are in for what you wanted to see from MLT to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rutherford County's OLDEST and BEST Theatrical Arts Organization!
After 50 years, we are still 100% VOLUNTEER!
Still 100% Self-Sufficient!
Still 100% non-profit
And Still 100% THEATRE - offering season after season drama, comedy, classics, musicals, mysteries, contempary "off-beat" show, original productions - in other words, something for everyone - not for a select group.
Over the course of four weeks, 85 theater-goers cast their vote. Of that 85, 38 came from our membership. To all of you who voted, we thank you!!
After carefully looking over the votes - your Board of Directors took the top 12 nominees - then picked nine from the list. Admittedly, the top 12 was music and comedy heavy (not too much of a surprise) but the top vote went to Cat On a Hot Tin Roof!! Four musicals followed that Tennessee Williams classic, and then....Misery, the contemporary thriller based on Stephen King's novel!
One Final Word - then we'll announce the season. MLT has NOT determined the season order - we need input from our directors to do that. And that means that if you are reading this and you are interested in directing one of the below, we need to hear from you NOW! In fact, if you are interested in Directing, Set Design, Light Design, Costumes, Props, etc... and these shows really float your artistic boat, and you want to get involved - let us know NOW!! How?
