About the Show

Based on the story "The Loudest Voice" by Grace Paley, Coney Island Christmas introduces us to Shirley Abramowitz, a 12 year old Jewish girl who is cast as Jesus in the school's Christmas Pageant, much to horror of her stiff-necked mother and  amusement of her loving "papa".

As the now much older Shirley recounts the experience to her granddaughter (think the Princess Bride), the audience is taken back in time to Brooklyn New York during the great depression.

The show features not one but two hilarious school pageants - both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

This is a beautiful and timeless tale filled with tidings of comfort and joy....and inclusiveness.

The production opens December 8th with only six performances during the holiday season.
